Pros: Excellent optics, effective stabilization
Cons: Bulky, heavy, inadequate neckstrap
Bottom Line: High magnification, excellent performance and stable viewing in a handheld instrument makes this a "must-have" for astronomers.

Pros: 50mm objective lens for night, image stabilizer, 5min shutoff timer, quality optics
Cons: high price (but comparable to other good units) no battery life indicator.
Bottom Line: Go with the 15x50IS - the field of view is too narrow on the 18x50IS and they are otherwise the same. Definitely buy IS binoculars!
