This is a perfect game for any child ready to enter the gaming world!!!

My husband is a big video game player. We have at least 6 game systems, and my 3 year old son was just not satisfied playing with his V Tech V Smile any more. So while looking for games for my husband to play, not like he needs any more, I ran across the Dora The Explorer: Journey to the Purple Planet game for his Playstation 2. This game has an EC rating, Early Childhood, and my son was a fan of the Dora show, so I thought it would be perfect. And boy was I right. I was going to wait for Christmas to give it to him, but he just so wanted to play like Daddy, so I gave it to him early. We put the disc in and he did great.

This game has a great story for a young child and it is easy for them to play. The basic concept is Dora and Boots comes across an alien space ship and they need to get back to the purple plant, you being Dora of course are going to help. You get on a ship and travel to 4 planets to find the appropriate keys to open the gate for the purple planet. On each planet you have to perform a number of tasks, which are very educational for a younger child, colors, shapes sequence etc. Along the way you have to collect jewels to launch your ship off of each planet. If your familiar with the show the little band bugs come out after each task is complete, a little positive reinforcement. My son was able to play this game at 3.5 years pretty much by himself, he loved it and so did I.
