Epinions Some flaws, but a good value overall

by  clicq,  Dec 30, 2007
Pros: Good value, acceptable routing performance and maps, easy to use
Cons: Routes are not always the shortest, direction announcements are sometimes confusing
The Bottom Line: Good value, acceptable trade-offs for the price, but there may be better units for slightly more.
Review: Note: This is a review of the US version of the Tomtom ONE 3rd edition Like many other people this holiday season, I picked up a cheap GPS. I was attracted to the Tomtom ONE's low price and brand name. At the time, there weren't many reviews ...

Epinions You have reached your destination!

by  tucaman,  May 31, 2007
Pros: Simple to program and use, good graphics, and excellent touch screen technology.
Cons: Map updates can be costly, many optional features not available without compatible phone.
The Bottom Line: Never drive stressed again. No looking for addresses or GETTING LOST! Even if you miss a road, tomtom reconfigures the route and takes the worry out of driving.
Review: So, I’m visiting Washington DC with a group of coworkers and draw the short straw to drive the rental car. After a week of backseat advice, missed exits, merges, and onramps, I have developed a strange tick and growl a lot. At that point I vowed to ...

Epinions Very Happy With My TomTom

by  rachelleew,  Jan 4, 2008
Pros: Easy to use, lots of changeable preferences, easy to update, great price
Cons: Not enough POI’s, unable to add multiple stops to route
The Bottom Line: Great product for the price. I am thinking about buying one for my mom.
Review: I bought this TomTom to replace a broken Mio DigiWalker. I decided to go with TomTom because of the brand name being so popular among GPS users. I still have not decided which one I like better. There are a lot of differences between the two, both good ...

Epinions A FEW MORE POINTS FOR THE TOMTOM ONE 3RD EDITION USA

by  Barginfinder,  Mar 6, 2008
Pros: Its like an electronic Yellow Pages for your car.
Cons: "Final Destination" isn't always an exact bulls eye.
The Bottom Line: Considering its various uses and low price - the Pros far out weigh the cons.
Review: There are some really good reviews of the Tomtom One 3rd Edition USA version here on Epinions so I'll try not to repeat what is already written. Here are a couple things I like about the One 3rd Ed. I also agree with some of the gripes - but can offer a ...

Epinions I want to marry Tom Tom :)

by  Jacqlin82,  Mar 25, 2008
Pros: I'll never get lost again - I wish I had it earlier.
Cons: Missing streets, missing POI's
The Bottom Line: Get it! What do you have to lose? It certainly won't be your way! This GPS will get you where you need to go.
Review: For our spring break trip we are headed to Orlando, FL. I hate driving and not knowing where I am going - I get frantic! So this year I decided to skip all the panic and anxiousness and get a GPS device. I have researched them for over a year and even ...

Epinions First GPS, pleased so far (US version)

by  mtgrzz,  Mar 31, 2008
Pros: Very accurate
Cons: Sometimes the points of interest really aren't by you
The Bottom Line: Great first GPS. It has been 99% accurate, and I don't think yahoo is even that accurate.
Review: My husband is on the road constantly for work and is always calling me having me look up how to get from point A to point B so I decided to get him a GPS for Christmas. I didn't want to spend a lot because I wasn't sure if he would even want it so when I ...

Epinions BEST GPS FOR PEOPLE WITH A BUDGET

by  keenesbeans,  Aug 3, 2008
Pros: PRICE, durability, and ease of use.
Cons: Small Screen.
The Bottom Line: More of a 4.5, but only because of the small screen
Review: As a student with a budget, price played a huge factor in choosing a GPS. This GPS is not the greatest thing, but it gets the job done. I've used it very consistently for over half a year now, whether it's looking for a new shopping center, or looking ...

Epinions Simple to set up Cheap to own

by  gps-freak,  May 24, 2008
Pros: Easy to set compact, will fit in the pocket
Cons: New mapping costs 50% of a new unit
Review: Generally a good buy, but support is not very good. I had more help to sort out a problem from Halfords were I got it from. I know that latest maps are included but next year when you want to upgrade to latest maps the cost is approx £55. Its the old ...

Epinions Good value for money

by  dongeeL,  Aug 26, 2008
Pros: Fairly accurate voice directions at least on major arteries.
Cons: Awkward auto zooming, unfriendly user interface in relative terms, inconsistencies in operation process.
The Bottom Line: Not bad for its price as it does the job relatively well. But it is not as simple to use as Garmin units.
Review: Instead of buying an updated map for my aged Garmin at $100 plus, I figured it was a better decision to just to buy a new GPS unit which can be used for our new car as a dedicated unit. I liked my Garmin, but decided to try a Tom-Tom One because (1) it ...
