Halo 3

If you own an Xbox 360 and in the off-chance that you haven't played Halo already then I highly recommend that you at least try Halo 3. Halo is probably the game that made more people want to get an Xbox than any other game made for it.

Let's start with some Halo history. The original Halo was an incredible experience and I think it is one of the best games ever made. Halo 2 had extremely high expectations but I was a bit disappointed with the campaign. But the true beauty in Halo 2 was the online play. It was the most incredible online console game on the market. With the first two games being such a success, then the third should be a great success too, right?

That is what I'm here to tell you. Let's start with the campaign. Before you play this, make sure that you have played the first two or else this really isn't worth it. Halo has an epic storyline that must be played all the way through or else you really won't get the full experience. That being said, the campaign is pretty good...the first time. You will likely never play trough the campaign more than once unless you have a buddy you want to play it with or you want achievements. It is a bit on the short side and just isn't the same as that first playthrough. There are much better single player games out there.

But does that mean that Halo 3 is a bad game? Not at all, that is, if you are playing with other people. Multiplayer matches are very fun and competitive and with the addition of Forge, (a mode where you can move and place weapons, vehicles, and scenery around the map) there is a lot that you can do with the maps. There are endless hours of fun to be had with your buddies.

But just as in Halo 2, the only reason that Halo 3 is a very good game, is the online play. It is extremely fun and after I write this review I am more than likely going to go play this game. There are many game modes and playlists that you can choose from and they are all fun. You can rise through the ranks online or if you want, you can just have fun in custom games with up to 16 players! You can also play and share your Forged maps online. My favorite custom games to play are infection games, and the more players, the more fun it is.
